Back in Madden 20, I gave up 54510451 yards to a wildcat user. He had me so down he had me foreseeing indeed.com commercials before they even existed.
After having been demoralized for the day, I re-grouped, hit practice mode, and figured it out.
The best part is the defense I am about to show you works EVERY year.
It does require one of Manu’s 10 key skills needed to be competitive forever – “usering with confidence.”
We Use A 4 Step Process For Stopping Wildcat:
- Pick Big Nickel Over G – Cover 4 Quarters
- Slant the defensive line outside
- Press
- Blitz the OLB
If they run outside, you need to loop around the tackles and contain the edge. If they run counter, you will have a breakaway path down the a-gap to lunge through.
This defense will put you in position to succeed but closing out with your user is vital.
