How To Play Offense In Madden 23 – 3 Beginner Tips
Madden 23 | Offensive Tips
“Money Play” Development
What if I told you it wasn’t your reads causing the panic picks under pressure? Sure, reads play a part but how close do you put your routes to each other?
As a beginner-level player, I struggled designing passing plays where the routes were well spaced out.
I could scrape by beating most that I played online but when I challenged a competitive player, I lost by 50 and threw 2452125 picks.
That competitive player is STILL catching picks on me from that game till this day.
So… how did I change my habits to become a champion on the pro scene?
The 3 Step Process For How To Play Offense:
- Don’t multiple routes into the same spot on the field
- Not having more than 1 route around the user
- 7 yard rule – each route should have 7 yards of space between each other
This was my staple “route combo” (competitive Madden terminology) in a $5,000 game of Madden. Note the space between ALL of my routes on the field.
Now take the time to think, are your routes as spaced out as this? Wouldn’t it be sooo much easier to complete open passes with route combos like this?
You don’t need to have 20/20 laser vision reads like Tom Brady to consistently score.
You need to make it easy on yourself by setting yourself up to succeed PRE-snap.
There are 5 well-spaced route combo concepts (not money plays) we teach at The Madden Academy. These can be applied to ANY mode, team, OR scheme.
The double hitch and post is one of the 5 (what you see above). The rest rely on the same 3 rules for avoiding interceptions.
Best part?
Not only will you avoid interceptions but you will fly down the field and DOUBLE your passing yards.
Your Next Urgent Step
You have been briefly introduced to the art of playing offense but what about the common mistakes on offense?
