Top 3 Ratings To Look For When Team Building

EA made some corrections to the ratings/attributes you must look for when constructing your draft day roster. 

1. Speed

2. Acceleration

Acceleration – Acceleration is the new important rating to consider when building a team on franchise mode or Madden Ultimate Team. There is a considerable difference on how fast a player starts off when they have a high acceleration rating versus a low acceleration rating. In Madden 22, you want to combine the speed and acceleration rating for optimal results.

3. Change of Direction

Change of Direction (COD) – This was a new rating introduced on Madden NFL 21. Change of direction is what allows for quick cuts with a user player. It is crucial to have a very high COD rating for your user defender as it will allow you to cut any direction quick allowing you to cover more ground. There is a 90 rating threshold for COD which allows any player with AT LEAST 90 COD to perform much quicker cuts than players below 90 COD. 

All of these ratings are instrumental to building a top team. However, this does not mean that other ratings are not important to factor in, but these ratings listed above should be top of your list for most positions. For example, a quarterback’s ratings are not as keen on speed, acceleration, and change of direction unless you plan on running a lot with your QB. The most important quarterback ratings would be THP (throw power) and accuracy. Whereas for your halfback, wide receivers, and defensive backs, the ratings above are most prominent. 

Last thing to note is speed is the top rating to factor in for a wide receiver but a 95 speed wide receiver with 85 route run (85 route run is a threshold that unlocks better cuts) is still a lot better than a 95 speed wide receiver with 60 route run.
